Information & Terms
How long does the training take?
The training lasts 14 days.
In what period is the course held?
The course is held each year for two terms: the spring term and the autumn term. Find the exact dates on the page below.
Where does the training take place?
We sail from Lefkada. The Ionian Sea is the best region in the world for beginners, regardless of whether they are skippers or just going on a boat for the first time.
What is the work methodology?
The theoretical part of the course is done from the IYT textbook – we provide photocopies. Starting from one class, the theoretical introduction is held in Serbia; everything else is done in Greece.
The passing in the form of a written test is held near the end of the course itself. Our approach emphasises practical training, where 14 days means a lot, which provides a solid basis for independent navigation.
What is the advantage of this approach?
We work in small groups—up to 3 participants max—and the duration of the training is 14 days. The traditional methods that schools generally practice include a 7-day course and groups of 5+ participants, meaning that each participant docks the ship twice or thrice during the course—which is too little.
What license do I get after completing the training?
Internationally recognized license: International Yacht and Maritime Training | IYT Worldwide.
What is included in the course price?
Training boat rental, instructor, training materials and passing.
What is not included in the course price?
Food, water, and electricity are in marinas, port taxes, diesel (paid according to consumption after returning to base), and the ship is cleaned. The costs are shared among the candidates.
Upon completing their training, all candidates are strongly advised to undertake their first independent sailing as soon as possible in the region where they received their training, but with an instructor present in a supportive capacity. This has proven to be an extremely effective practice. For this initial independent sailing, it is essential to have at least one person to provide assistance.

Team has gathered, but you need both, a skipper and the boat. It’s possible, of course.
We’ll teach you how – after all, how do you think we became so cool?
